Singapore is a small country with a relatively short history. We have forged a strong national identity as a young nation, emerging from a sleepy fishing village to a dynamic and cosmopolitan city-state. The Home Team's mission is to continue to safeguard Singapore, our home, and ensure that we have a secure and nurturing environment to take on the challenges of the future. To do that, we need strong-spirited youths with a desire to serve and contribute.
The Ministry of Home Affairs strives to groom our youths to continue this legacy of national peace, by awarding promising students the Singapore Police Force Overseas Scholarship, Singapore Government Scholarship (Home Affairs Uniformed Services) – SGS (HUS) to pursue undergraduate studies in overseas universities; or Local Merit Scholarship (Home Affairs Uniformed Services) – LMS(HUS) to pursue undergraduate studies in local universities. Upon completion, our scholars will pursue a career as Senior Officers in one of the uniformed services – Singapore Police Force (SPF), Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF), Singapore Prison Service (SPS) or Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB).
